Elk City, Oklahoma: Head Coach

CrossFit 760 is looking for a passionate career minded CrossFit coach for its new Elk City, Oklahoma location

Head Coach Position Description:

Head Coaches at CrossFit 760 are passionate about CrossFit and improving the lives of others with elite level coaching of nutrition and movement . They work with athletes of all levels, from beginners to the experienced CrossFitter. Head coaches easily connect with a wide variety of people and are effective in helping them reach their full potential. A CrossFit 760 head coach is a role model for a healthy lifestyle and a trusted advisor for health inquiries. He/she is involved with and well respected in the local community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of functional training as an athlete
  • 1+ year full-time coaching or 2+ years part-time coaching
  • CrossFit L1, additional certifications desirable
  • Willingness to continually improve

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coaching group classes.
  • Office hours to develop programming, assist with facility improvements, attend team meetings, work on individual projects, and implement other initiatives under direction from the Director of Training.
  • Handle membership inquiries, provide information about our program and membership options
  • Assist to plan and facilitate community events that take place throughout the year.
  • Occasional private coaching sessions
  • Implement programs under direction of the Director of Training and CEO

CrossFit 760 is constantly working to improve our members’ experience, and that starts with the coaching staff. We spare no expense or effort to provide a strength and conditioning facility that rivals collegiate and professional standards. CrossFit 760 uses an intern program that develops our coaching staff well beyond the weekend CrossFit seminar. We simply do not settle for mediocre coaching or movements from our athletes. Our programming is constantly evaluated and implemented by our Director of Training Casey Parlett, and is consistently recognized as one of the best programs in the industry. CrossFit 760 truly believes that CrossFit is for everyone, and ensures that every member works out safely and makes progress every day they train with us.

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of our world class coaching team. Our intern process is simple: show us you are committed, are willing to work hard in all aspects of life, accountable, and a team player. Progress through your internship is solely up to you. The first phase of the program will be spent shadowing an experienced coach, gaining a greater understanding of the movements, becoming more familiar with a variety of cues and understanding the CrossFit 760 program. During the second phase, there will be a transition toward more hands on learning, where the intern will take on more responsibility and lead different sections of classes, learning valuable skills such as time management and establishing a productive class environment. The 3rd phase you will become an assistant coach to our head coaches. Meaning you will simply assist with tasks and coaching. Phase 1, 2, & 3 are all part of your internship once you are passed on from phase 3 you will have the opportunity to become a head coach at CrossFit 760.

  • Keep a basic log that we can simply look at to see how many hours have been shadowed, and/or spent at meetings
  • Notes, questions, etc.
  • Shadow a minimum of 3 classes per week (only one intern per class)
  • Monthly Meeting
    This is mandatory and acts as our coaches development time
  • Written and practical testing (These both must be passed in order to become a head coach at CrossFit 760)
